Biografía
CAPTAINS OF SEA AND WAR was born in 2007 in Barcelona.
After so many years of experimentation with different sounds, composition and band
orientation, at 2012 Gerard Gual (guitars), David Montón (bass) and Àlex García (drums and
vocals) realized the best way to grow and get their wanted sound is becoming a trio formation.
With more freedom and the creative complicity of so many years playing together and sharing
their life experiences, the band reformulates their concept to get closer to a more progressive
band with more strength, intensity and dynamism to their compositions. Their style could be
defined by a mix of clean harmonies, ambient textures and elusive landscapes.
In that process of revision they composed new songs in a little time and so easily they build
their own style where the stoner and hypnotic riffs mix with progressive passages and
surrounding melodies, the result is an open structured songs, playing with different intensities
and states of mind.
You will find risk with no rules in their first record called as their selves released in September
2014.
CAPTAINS OF SEA AND WAR nace en 2007 en Barcelona. Después de varios años de experimentación en cuanto a sonido, orientación y composición, en 2012 Gerard Gual, David Montón y Àlex Garcia deciden que la fórmula más eficaz y natural para avanzar y concretar el ansiado sonido es la de trío. Con más libertad y con la complicidad creativa que confieren años de ensayos y amistad, reformulan el concepto primero de banda instrumental progresiva y dotan de más garra, intensidad y dinamismo a las canciones cuyo estilo se definiría por las armonías limpias, texturas ambientales y paisajes evasivos. En este proceso de revisión componen nuevos temas y en poco tiempo llegan a concretar un estilo propio donde los riffs rocosos e hipnóticos, combinados con frases progresivas y melodías envolventes, desembocan en canciones redondas con estructuras abiertas, jugando con diferentes intensidades y entornos. Riesgo sin reglas. Es lo que podemos encontrar en su primer disco homónimo publicado en septiembre de 2014.
